Jacob’s love of animals helps feed local pet companions through FeedMore WNY’s AniMeals program

Ever since the adoption of the Barney family’s first rescue dog when Jacob was six years old, he has asked friends and family for pet food donations to support local animal shelters in place of birthday presents. Seven years later and now 13 years old, Jacob and his family have donated to multiple animal shelters all over the Buffalo area. When Jacob’s mother, Jenna, called a close friend asking for shelter recommendations for this year’s donation, she suggested FeedMore WNY’s AniMeals program!
We extend our thanks to Jacob Barney for collecting and donating 253 pounds of pet food in honor of his 13th birthday! This generous donation will directly support neighbors participating in our AniMeals program.
For many individuals, pets offer much needed comfort and friendship. FeedMore WNY supports our clients’ needs by providing pet food to partner food agencies for distribution into the community. For our homebound neighbors and those living with a disability receiving food through our home-delivered meal program, volunteers regularly bring a portioned package of pet food to support the meal recipient’s furry companions. Both of these programs allow our clients to keep their animal companions nourished so that they do not have to choose between feeding themselves or their beloved pets. Pet food distributed through AniMeals is provided at no cost to those we serve.
We are grateful to neighbors like Jacob, who share their love and compassion for animals with others by supporting programs like AniMeals. To learn more about our AniMeals program and to make a donation, please visit our AniMeals page or call (716) 822-2002.
