Avangrid Foundation awards $20K grant for programs, equipment
FeedMore WNY has been awarded a $20,000 grant from the Avangrid Foundation to support both its RISE program and commissary-based equipment needs.
Avangrid is a sustainable energy company with a mission of transitioning America toward a clean and connected future.
FeedMore WNY’s RISE program will be provided $10,000 through the foundation’s grant.
RISE offers free job-training for economically disadvantaged adults, providing the skills, experience, opportunities and a network of partners to help our neighbors obtain gainful employment and achieve financial self-sufficiency.
Additionally, the FeedMore WNY commissary will receive $10,000 as part of the grant.
The grant funding will be used to further assist the FeedMore WNY commissary in the purchase of equipment.
At the commissary, located at 100 James E. Casey Drive, close to 6,000 fresh meals are produced and prepared each day for volunteer delivery to homebound and mobile older adults.
The Avangrid Foundation is an independent organization that engages in mission-driven giving and is the principal philanthropic arm of Avangrid, Inc., based in Orange, Conn.
