Blizzard Boxes: Feeding Our Neighbors When Winter Hits Hard

Winter in Western New York can be beautiful, but it can also bring harsh weather conditions that make it difficult and in some cases impossible for our team to deliver meals to those who rely on us. At FeedMore WNY, we are committed to ensuring no one goes without nourishment, even when snowstorms or icy conditions make deliveries unsafe. That’s why we provide Blizzard Boxes to our most vulnerable Meals on Wheels clients.

As the cooler weather sets in, our staff and volunteers have been hard at work packaging emergency food kits to assist our community members when the unexpected happens.

These boxes are full of nonperishable food items, water, and shelf-stable milk. We also deploy these emergency food kits to area police and fire stations, as well as other nonprofits, to help our community in times of need.

Last year, FeedMore WNY distributed nearly 1,000 emergency food kits to assist Western New Yorkers.
