He went home with healthy food to stock his small fridge, all of which could be prepared with the microwave he had available. But he also came home with a new resource within reach.

Now, with the support of his friends at Hearts for the Homeless, Virgil realized he could have a better life.

Thanks to the dedicated staff at Hearts for the Homeless, a caseworker from Cinqcare and Virgil’s own unwavering perseverance, he was able to secure the appointments, mental health care and housing support he needed. The best part?
The new apartment he secured has a full kitchen, including an oven.

“I have an oven! I just can’t believe I finally have an oven. Haven’t had one of those in I don’t know how long”, Virgil says, his face lit up with joy. He welcomed the change with a big smile, excited that he could cook his favorite meals again.

Staff at Hearts for the Homeless remarked on Virgil’s incredible dedication and the progress he made with the right support — and the right nutrition.
