YMCA Buffalo Niagara and FeedMore WNY team up to help fight hunger
For the tenth straight year, YMCA Buffalo Niagara is teaming up with FeedMore WNY to help fight hunger this holiday season. The community is asked to bring non-perishable food items to any local YMCA branch during the month of November. YMCA Virtual Turkey Trot participants can also drop off donations during curbside packet-pickup on Tuesday, November 24 and Wednesday, November 25 at the Independent Health YMCA, Southtowns YMCA, Lockport YMCA, and YMCA Buffalo Niagara Association Office.
“We are grateful to YMCA Buffalo Niagara, WGRZ-TV Channel 2 and the Western New York community for helping FeedMore WNY nourish our hungry neighbors through this critical food drive,” Tara A. Ellis, president and CEO of FeedMore WNY, said. “Unfortunately, one in six individuals in FeedMore WNY’s service area struggles with hunger. Thanks to the support of our generous community partners, we are able to continue our mission of offering dignity, hope and a brighter future to our Western New York neighbors in need.”
“The YMCA is excited to once again partner with FeedMore WNY for this important cause,” says Mary Ilarraza, Communications Director for YMCA Buffalo Niagara. “We’re confident that the Western New York community will help us feed more families this year.”
